What happened to the wonderful and user-friendly tool that used to be called archive.org ? It is now cluttered with crappy ads and everything is more difficult to find and looks confusing. What a shame such a tool of knowledge had to stoop so low. Knowledge is no longer power. Money is.

Oh thank goodness! I thought it might just be me ~ I hate it! This was once one of my first and favorite research sites and now it is just plain torturous! It is just depressing and sad ~

I have attempted to use the new format, and found it unusable. I've bailed on it. I couldn't find many features, even after long and annoying searches. In addition, the new look on upload pages trumpets the uploader's user name and links to other uploads. IA's relative anonymity is really one of it's less-heralded but most important features. Abandoning it is a serious error, in my opinion. I certainly hope that the IA powers that be pay attention to the many unhappy reviews of the new format.

Done the same.
Back to 365.com for awhile. Been on internet archive both donating and listening and I'm very disappoint after all these MANY years.

I don't want to appear ungrateful. I love IA, and appreciate all the hard work that goes into it. I'm just concerned about the "new look" degrading the site's overall awesomeness.

3dsherlock,

I agree and a group of us intend to create our own front-end .... interface/search engine; if you are interested (I am not interested in monetary contributions) only ideas to make it work better and to be an optimal search experience for users. I can be contacted at garthus801@gmail.com.
